Much to my surprise, I am finding the ability to focus both my eyes and brain simultaneously and produce something akin to coherent thought. What do you know, Christmas miracles do occur!
The past many days have been spent in migraine agony, but thanks to the fervent efforts of my lovely doctor and his white-hot prescription pad and illegible handwriting, we may be on our way to a manageable route of treatment. As a long-time sufferer of chronic migraines, I am accustomed to fairly frequent pain, but when I realized that more than 80% of the preceeding two months have been spent in a literal haze of tears, pain, nausea, and constant flux between throb and shard, well, something had to give. Turns out, my nice, tame, chronic migraines have gone through a growth spurt and morphed into “transformed migraines,” which is a fancy way of saying “they never really go away, you lucky lucky s.o.b!”
So, new medicines, new treatments, and a lot of patience for this patient. We’re getting there. If nothing else, there are some great query letters coming out of all of these medical trevails!
More soon, and quite interesting things as well… for the future, a trip to Romania. Near future, a Dr. Seuss Christmas tree. Even nearer-future still, realizing why I bought shatterproof balls to hang from the living-room curtain rod last year, and swapping the shatterable ones I hung there last night for last year’s versions… okay, so the nearest-future isn’t as exciting, but it’s a building process, people.
