Making words work.

Such a good day!   We joined a new gym, about which I am extremely excited. As some of you know, I was once a group fitness instructor at my old gym. Thanks to a former boss, I wasn’t able to continue teaching, which not only broke my heart but also made it extremely awkward all the way around.   So today, the mister and I were out running errands and decided to swing through a new gym opening up not far from our home. Fell in love with the place within five minutes. I almost keeled over... Continue to Full Post →

*watches tumbleweeds blow by*   I’m still alive, just somewhat shadow-lurking right now. Still abysmally sick, I’m coughing my head off, feeling like acid is being poured down my throat, and as if an anvil sitting on my chest.   I’m just sick and tired of being sick and tired. My days are spent lying around like a used-up dishcloth. The place is a wreck; every time I start to clean, I send myself into a coughing fit. Hubby missed a week of work because he has the same thing, but... Continue to Full Post →

Much to my surprise, I am finding the ability to focus both my eyes and brain simultaneously and produce something akin to coherent thought. What do you know, Christmas miracles do occur!   The past many days have been spent in migraine agony, but thanks to the fervent efforts of my lovely doctor and his white-hot prescription pad and illegible handwriting, we may be on our way to a manageable route of treatment. As a long-time sufferer of chronic migraines, I am accustomed to fairly frequent pain,... Continue to Full Post →

My mom has asked my nephew to “say how a turkey goes!” so many times that last night, while sound asleep, he rolled over, stretched, and murmured, “dobble dobble dobble” without waking up for even a second. Gotta love moments like that. And, since his “dobbles” are the cuter way to say it, Happy Dobble-Dobble Day, everyone!  Read More →

One of my favorite phenomenons that signals the arrival of autumn and winter: the crystallized puffs of air that hang in front of my face each time I breathe outside. Even at the ripe old age of 28, I’m still known to occasionally “smoke” a phony cigarette while waiting for Mikey to do his business. I know, I know, terribly immature. But when I’m already wearing fuzzy Eeyore pajama pants, a thick, ginormous hoodie inherited from my husband, and a tasseled toboggan on my noggin,... Continue to Full Post →

…but my clicker went click-happy. I was deleting through my daily five-bakers’ dozens of SPAM comments, and two of my dear friends, Sarah and shorty, got caught in the extermination. So for their two now disappeared comments that fell victim to the clicking madness of deletion, I offer this in remembrance: Two prettiful daisies for the posts, and one prettiful daisy for my attention span… all flying up into the clouds of disappearance.  Let us sigh…  Read More →

Seriously, I think some rascal has absconded with my Muse. She was here just the day before yesterday, and now she’s gone. Come on now, which one of you took her? It’s high time you’ve returned her to her proper location, namely holding my pen and clicking on my keyboard. Fun is fun, but the joke has gone on long enough. I’m going to be reworking my website before long, to consolidate my political and activism blogs into one, and updating my front page. Any suggestions? =)... Continue to Full Post →

…when the NaNoWriMo kickoff, a huge election, and persistent migraines-in-the-making all occur in the same week. My blog goes stagnant. My emotions are a little scattered right now. I am exhausted, thanks to many little-sleep and sleepless nights. I am cranky because my eyes have been wickedly bothering me for the last long while, contributing to those migraines. I’m angry because a dear friend of mine was robbed, her security violated and her, her husband, and their unborn child were... Continue to Full Post →
